this is absolutely fascinating. i research fan communities and fandom (i guess you could call me a fandomologist) and old fandom efemria such as this from pre internet times is interesting. especially since i was not able to experience fandoms like this in the times before most of them became exceedingly toxic almost immediately. in a way i would love to see old fandom stuff like fansines and fan clubs return in the modern day. perhaps they could work as a stabilizing force for fandoms and prevent or at least dampen the toxicity that most fandoms in this day and age. but then again with the existence of fake fans who try to infiltrate fandoms and turn them into speaker phones and soapboxes for there own selfish and venomous uses maybey theirs a reason why there not as prevalent as the once were

Very interesting! I didn't get into organised comics fandom until a couple of years later but I still remember the mimeographed & dittoed fanzines we'd produce and exchange via snail-mail. I also find it interesting that this was done in 1964, before the Batman television series caused a huge surge in "Batmania." (Biljo should have trademarked the name)

Hi guys, There's a Facebook page devoted to pre-internet days of comics fandom you can see a LOT of very cool stuff like this. https://www.facebook.com/groups/fanzinehistory/ -Yoc
