WOW! BLACKHAWK was now a member of the Exclusive 100-Issue Club! QUALITY's handling of the heroes allowed them to bridge the gap between a world engulfed in war to that of a Post-War Era. THE DELPHINIAN MENACE is a tremendous example of what could have been their future-fighting a menace so threatening that it was spawned elsewhere in the Universe, and Earth's very existence is at stake. However, the BLACKWAWKS and QUALITY were to depart within eight issues, and future menaces were to be of the wild and unbelievable alien criminals, or small earthly gangsters somehow endued with strange powers.
BLACKHAWK #100 maintained its heritage of the greatest, most exciting covers and splash pages, but these, too, would be gone with the move to DC.
DILLIN and CUIDERA's artwork was never better, but, with time and DC, would be tainted with an excess of shading and inking, and many of the BLACKHAWKS would look like they just finished greasing their airplanes. |
