The first story "The White Death" is really interesting to read. Drug addiction is not a subject you would expect to find in a comic book.

Yeah, there were quite a number of drug moral lesson stories in comic books back then. Charlton did another one in Sweethearts #122 (March, 1954) actually.

SynopsisJimmy Dreyers heists a payroll, then is caught and spends 30 years in prison. When he's released, he hires some people to dig it up for him. They do - only to find skeletons in the ground. Moreover, the payroll turns out to consist of large sized, gilt-edged bills (which were illegal tender by that time). Jimmy hangs for the murder of his henchmen.
