Additional Information

Willie and Sammy in their little car, Go out for a ride but can't get very far. A tire goes flat and the motor goes dead, And the bull near the fence begins to see red!

ACTION FOR THE PLAY

ACT I: Yes, Willie and Sammy sure are having trouble with their brand new 1906 car. Sammy, wrench in hand, is trying like everything to persuade the motor to start again. Willie is astonished to realize that the spare tire flew off at the sudden stop of the car and made a neat ringer on the horn of a bull standing nearby. (Fortunately for them the bull is safely enclosed behind a fence.)
ACT II: Sammy goes "underground" to take a whack at the axle. Now Willie is examining the stubborn motor which just won't start. He begins to pound away at it with a hammer. In the meantime a little squirrel who has been around all the time mistakes one of the car nuts that fell loose for a real one and begins to nibble happily. Brother Bull glaring at this invasion of his privacy is getting angrier and angrier every second.
ACT III: Clang, Clickety, Cling - The back wheel comes off! The whole car looks like it's falling apart. What a sad, sorry, sloppy mess: The busted motor won't run; the spare tire is where nobody would like to reach for it - the squirrel is playing ping pong with the car nut, - poor Willie is puffing and huffing and trying to get the wheel back on, while Sammy (who took the ride for a rest) is getting just as sore as the bull.
ACT IV: Sammy doesn't dare fight our heavy weight friend the bull, so he takes his spite out by chasing the squirrel. The bull would give half his tail if he could just jump the fence and settle things, his own way. Only Sammy is calm, he is sitting back in tAe car resigned to his fate. "Oh well," he thinks, it is a beautiful day and Willie and I will enjoy the long, l-o-n-g walk back to town. Maybe we can even pick some flowers and make a wreath for the dead motor.

HOW TO CONSTRUCT YOUR ANIMATED FUNNIES

1. Detach strip containing parts from background picture. Carefully push out all parts from strip. Lay pushed-out parts and background picture in front of you - printed sides up.
2. Push tabs A on Willie's arm down so that they stand upright from the unprinted side (Fig. 1). Push these tabs through hole A on Willie's body and and then bend them back (Fig. 2). This lock allows arm to be moved into any position.
3. Pick up bar (BC). Push end of bar with hole C through long slot which forms back of car in background picture. Fasten end of bar by locking tabs C on background picture through hole C on bar.
4. Bend up tabs B on bar and attach Willie's body by locking tabs B through hole B.
5. Attach Sammy's arms to his body by locking tabs D through hole D.
6. Push down tabs E on Sammy's body. Fasten Sammy to bar (EF) by locking tabs E through hole E.
7. Push end of bar with hole F through slot in front of car and fasten by locking tabs F through hole F.
8. Attach the rest of the parts by locking tabs through holes of the same letter. When your "Animated Funny" is complete, it will look like Fig. 3 (This shows view from the unprinted side. Dotted lines represent parts that don't show).
