Wonderful reminder of my childhood. I had a copy of this given to me in school when the forest service came and gave a presentation.

Additional Information

Smokey Bear presents:
A story book of the forest, trees and animals
Illustrated by Harry Rossoll

If we keep fire out of the forest and let young healthy trees keep growing, it will help us to have beautiful green forests, nice clear streams, lumber for homes and food for our animal friends.

BOYS AND GIRLS

Here is what you can do to help develop our forest resources:

   1) Be careful with matches and fire
   2) If you see a woods fire tell someone about it at once.
   3) Plant a tree.
   4) Talk to you parents. Urge them to harvest trees carefully.

The future of our country, state, and nation rests in the hands of our boys and girls. Proper use of our trees and forests will vitally affect our prosperity. Forest fires and unwise cutting are the principal threats to these resources.

With this thought in mind, this books is dedicated to all school boys and girls and to the advancement of forestry conservation.
