When he makes a pass at her, Beth rejects him and realizes she hasn’t been supportive of the man she loves, John. However, John has moved out. Beth is unhappy until John returns; he has a new job and they decide to start over.

SynopsisCharlene’s mother raised her to hate Roger Crandall, who stole a soft drink formula from Charlene’s late father and got rich from it. As a young woman, Charlene meets Roger’s son Neal and vows revenge on the family, urged on by her bitter mother. However, Charlene really loves Neal and, when she meets the aged invalid Roger, pities him. Roger dies and leaves his money to Charlene and her mother, unknown to Neal. Neal, thinking his penniless state makes him less attractive as a potential husband, offers to break their engagement, but Charlene says only love is important.

Lynne decides she wants Jerry back, then learns he’s engaged. Jerry’s mother claims Lynne is also going to be married. This makes Jerry realize he loves Lynne. He breaks up with Arlene and reconciles with Lynne.

Stan gets into the game at the end and scores the winning touchdown. He and Paula will be married after he graduates.
