Richard Hughes wrote all of the stories in this issue, and each one has a "loser" protagonist with an odd name: Hepzibah Wharple the nerdy scientist's daughter, Amos Dalrymple the tardy wimp, Homer Hergis the failed inventor, and unpleasant genius Cosmo Ingle. Of course, Hughes was the creator of the ultimate outsider character, Herbie Popnecker.
