GREAT artwork on this strip! Looks kinda like an Italian or Spanish artist...or was he home-grown?

A well-remembered relic from my childhood! A good read and well illustrated. Highly recommended. Melbee.

Some of the faces and panels look exactly like Frank Hampson's art for Dan Dare. Anyone know if Hampson worked on this story? Great art!!

Anyone know why this issue only had 58 pages? All the other Super Detective Library issues I've seen had 64 pages. hoover

Although the front page title says Super Detective Library, the end page credits name it Valiant Picture Library, so perhaps reprinted from a previous publication? The Rick Random story in number 70 only has 34 pages.

The Rick Random story in issue 70 has a full 64 pages, which are presented on this site two original pages at a time, which is why the stats for it say 34 pages.

This story was 64 pages long in Super Detective Library, edited down to 56 pages in Valiant Picture Library 28 as Invaders From Space. It was also reformatted for publication in either Film Fun or Radio Fun, and later in the first Valiant Space Special. Art was by Bill Lacey.

Page discrepancy is easy to explain. The inside covers, which would have been house ads, are missing. This one probably came out during the time that the Fleetway/IPC Picture Libraries were only 60 pages total (including covers). They later went back to 68 pages.
