Puck (30/7/1904 - 11/5/1940) Puck from Alfred Harmsworth started in 1904 and was solely aimed at adults. It introduced a children's section in issue #11 entitled Puck Junior and by issue #21, strips were predominant. And once Billy Smiff's Pirates and Johnny Jones And The Casey Court Boys took over the front page, the 'Childrens Comic' had been born. Puck lasted for a fantastic 36 years (1867 issues) until it entered the graveyard week of 11th May 1940. It never incorporated any other publication during that vast length of time before it got incorporated into Sunbeam." (thanks to Comics UK)
