A fun tale where the chums of the remove try to track down a missing button cut from Harry Warton's jacket. The race is on to foil the schemes of Hazeldene the cad of the remove who sought to exploit a nervous habit of the said junior to win a Latin competition. After a talk with the headmaster and a good showing at soccer Harry begins to mend some bridges with the other Remove fellows and by the end of the story has started to form the bonds of friendship with Bob Cherry; a relationship that will of course eventually endure all the way to the very last episode of the Magnet.
