Pat is assigned to Korea, where in a terrible battle, he is the sole survivor, and is taken prisoner. In a twist of fate, his friend Hank Jones is being held in the same prison. They make a daring escape attempt, and Hank nearly gets caught, but Pat sacrifices himself to get Hank free, confessing his love for Joan to Hank before he dies.
