Notes | Alfred Andriola was intending to becoming a writer. Instead, following a fan letter he wrote to Milton Caniff, he became his assistant, working with him on Terry and the Pirates and Scorchy Smith. Alfred Andriola later drew the Charlie Chan Daily and Sunday Newspaper Strips until 1942. He also drew the Charlie Chan comic books that appeared in Quality's Feature Comics and Columbia's Big Shot.
