Wikipedia says that Dick Briefer did some strips for teh Daily Worker, and you can see it here; his vision of the future, in which money is abolished, people have all they need, and work for the joy of working on their own terms without need of financial reward, is a lot like Marx' vision of the ideal communist state. Briefer's social conscience was also on display in his creating the first American Indian costumed hero, and his Pirate Prince, who roamed the seas to free slaves from slave trading ships.

Thank you so much for that coupon for free KOOBA. I am awaiting my delivery now. However, if they expect me to pay 5 cents for only 12 ounces, they're crazy!

"his vision of the future, in which money is abolished, people have all they need, and work for the joy of working on their own terms without need of financial reward, is a lot like Marx' vision of the ideal communist state" Also exactly like STAR TREK. A society without need is a society without greed. To be fair, a completely common trope of utopian futurist fiction, well-established long before Dick Briefer came along.
