Quite intriguing to find here (Girls' Crystal #740, 1949), in the serial "Rosalie, Robbie and the Robot," mention of a "mechanical man" called Archie! Could this have inspired Lion comic's later, famous Robot Archie? Ted Cowan, the scriptwriter and presumed creator of Archie the Jungle Robot, was a story writer in Girls' Crystal as Denise Cowan. I wonder if he followed this serial by fellow, veteran writer John Wheway as Hazel Armitage.
