What a wonderful piece of work! I agree, it's not Joe's best art--but there's something marvelous about someone of Joe's caliber working fast. 9 for the comics themselves--but 10 for the diligence in slogging through all those Charlton Westerns. (my eyes kinda glaze over thinking about it...)

On page 20, the line "He'll look DEVINE, Daddy!" brought a chuckle from me, referring as it does to "Jingles."

I'm enjoying this super chunk of Maneely art! Too bad he didn't have the fine inking he would get with the Timely (or Atlas, or whatever proto-Marvel publisher/s) "Black Knight" and such. I'd love to see this with John Severin applying the finishes, for instance.
