Steve asks Mary to loan him $500 for a big deal and she gets the money from Bob, only to discover Steve is a con man. Bob says he still loves Mary and they are happily reunited. Steve escapes to grift another day.

Doug says he will marry her right away and buy the house she’s always wanted, but his mother will have to live with them for a couple of years to help with expenses. Sharon agrees but lies to his mother and says Doug doesn’t want her with him. His mother tries to commit suicide and Doug learns the truth. He and his mother move away, leaving Sharon alone and remorseful.
