Dell comics did not submit their books to the Comics Code Authority. Sometimes that meant they went beynd what the code would have allowed. This book deals with heroin trafficking and domestic violence - more forgiving of the latter than would be politically correct today. |

I've read issues 1 and 2. They are based on an early 1960s TV show by the same name. The show starred E. G. Marshall as the elder Preston and Robert Reed (well before he became the father on "The Brady Bunch") as the younger. The art in the books is in general mediocre, but the writing is above average. |

[The art in the books is in general mediocre]
I wouldn't exactly say that, but Frank Stringer is not the most inspiring comic book artist. He was a good draftsman but somehow not an inspiring comic artist.
One of the strangest decisions Marvel ever made was to replace Jim Steranko with Springer on Nick Fury, Agent of Shield. Ahh, No, guys!
What were they thinking?!
Frank Springer [Francis Hollidge, Bob Monhegan]
