A magical time, a lovely jungle princess. The seductive, beautiful Miss Dorothy Lamour, and comic books that were truly entertaining. "Wheew" they certainly don't make them as they used to. |
I certainly prefer the drawn Dorothy Lamour inside the book than the unappealing model and the wearisome looking chimpanzee on the cover! |
One could never get enough of Ms Lamour, then or now. Early Wood art just makes it better, and who doesn't appreciate Everett's work. This was an artist whose art kept getting better right up to the end.
Scripts? I have to wonder if there really were scripts sometimes. |
I doubt that 'The gaining of courage' is actually by Wally Wood.' "Flaming Idol of the Bengi Kraal" may have been inked by Wally, but I think someone else was involved too. |

Notes | Wally Wood appears to have hidden his initials in some inscriptions in the first panel on the last page of the story. It reads "WAWTTSMEP" and the "W"'s are very much like his later signature. Possible the inker's signature is hidden in the rest of the letters. [note added by Peter Croome, December 2008] |
