The first appearance of CAT-MAN --albeit w/ original wonky looking costume and all.
   By NukeA6
This is what Cat-Man used to look like? And I thought some superheroes had some really bad first costumes.
   By FraBig
Yes, Cat-Man will get a new costume in Cat-Man Comics #1, and then his more iconic one in Cat-Man Comics #3.
   By crashryan
The Cat-Man episode in "Cat-Man Comics" #1 gave CM a new costume but kept the central gimmick of Irwin Hasen's "Crash Comics" character: that CM had nine lives. He dies in action, then the spirit of his Tiger Mom appears and resurrects him. With CM #2 this shtick is never mentioned again. The CM #1 story credits Martin Panzer and Charles Quinlan. I presume Panzer wrote the script. Beginning with CM #2 Quinlan has sole credit. Quinlan wrote a lot of his own stuff (or co-wrote it with his son). My guess is that Quinlan realized that if Cat-Man continued to die in every issue, his character would only last five more episodes. In CM#27 the character got another reboot. Quinlan was gone, CM was given a completely new origin story, and Kitten had breast augmentation surgery and aged a couple of years. Over the last few issues of the comic's run Kitten was presented more and more as CM's adult partner rather than the kid sidekick she had been.
