Comic StoryRhubarb (34 pages)
SynopsisA millionaire who owns the Brooklyn Loons baseball team befriends a tough yellow tomcat that he names "Rhubarb" after the slang term for a baseball argument. Three years later, the man dies and leaves the bulk of his fortune and the ball club to Rhubarb. The Loons' press agent Eric Yeager is named legal guardian of the cat and a running sub-plot is his attempts to marry Polly Sickles, who is allergic to the cat. Rhubarb, who has been the Loons’ good luck charm during a winning streak, is kidnapped by some gangsters who plan on Brooklyn losing the championship game without their lucky mascot.
