Two invalid sisters living with their niece and nephew become disgruntled with the isolated life in the country and make plans to move back to their former home in the city. But when one of their cats dies after eating a piece of meat and the other unexpectedly vanishes, the sisters begin to wonder if their niece and nephew will ever allow them to leave.
