Phil catches up with Cara and says (a) he was talking to his mother, and (b) he’s really the son of the owner of the architecture firm, and took a false name so his work would get an impartial hearing. Phil and Cara kiss.

Even when Jimmy rescues her from a street robbery, Joanie refuses to forgive him for his deception. On the return trip, Jimmy explains: he is learning the business from the bottom up, and he really loves Joanie. They reconcile.

However, Sonny decides to quit because she loves Johnny and doesn’t think her affections are reciprocated. Johnny admits he loves her as well.

When Bruce returns, Ellen’s hard work has paid off and Bruce now realises he loves her.
