Robin and the gang lend Sir Richard of the Lea the money he needs to pay off a debt owed to the corrupt Abbott Franklyn (Frank Royd) who is in league with the Sheriff of Nottingham. An alternative version of this episode also exists in the US, where Sir Richards debt is owed to the corrupt Baron Emmet, played by John Longden, in place of the Abbot.
