Well I still like Sam Wilson better, he does not have to jump off a tall building to get airborne. This buy more glides than flies. Re: the Arthur English strip: What is a "wide boy"??
   By Dave Hayward
In answer to your query about the term 'Wide boy' - wide boy noun 1. (Brit, slang) a man who is prepared to use unscrupulous methods to progress or make money. Can also sometimes be called a 'Spiv' - noun 1. (Brit, slang) a person who makes a living by underhand dealings or swindling; black marketeer. Hope this clarifies the term for you.

Like many Americans, I was charmed and frustrated by The Penguin Book of Comics. On one hand it gave a fascinating glimpse into the world of British Comics, but on the other, I thought I'd never get to see them. Thanks for rectifying that situation! Radio Fun lives up to its name and the promise seen long ago in the Penguin book.
