Was this comic the predecessor to Little Casper published later, in the 50s? (there is an obvious similarity). Thanks for making this available for the public.

No. This series started in 1957, and copied Casper, The Friendly Ghost, because of the latter's recent success in Paramount Cartoons, and Harvey Comics. Casper started in 1949, published by St. John Comics, and moved in the early 1950s (along with Little Audrey and all the other Paramount cartoon characters' rights, to Harvey. There were several comic book publishers who copied Casper, by having a "friendly ghost" series, including Charlton's "Timmy, The Timid Ghost", Atlas(Marvel's "Homer The Happy Ghost", ACG's "Hector The Spectre", Ajax's "Super Spook", and "Mighty Ghost". The only friendly ghost series that started before even Casper's first cartoon was ACG's "Spencer Spook", which started in 1943, and ended in 1955, during the early successful time of Casper with Harvey Comics.
