I'd never read the first Blue Beetle story, so I didn't realize how outrageous a Green Hornet ripoff he was. Obviously Fox decided to change course real quick. I wonder if it was because costumed heroes were in, or because the Green Hornet people threatened to sue him. I did like the beetle-shaped tie, though.

I hadn't read the first few stories and it's amazing how close to the Hornet he is in that first one. Then there are costume changes, little bits at a time. Then powers appear and we find out his cossie is bullet proof and that he has "super-energy" due to vitamin 2x. Great stuff.
