In the NEA strip Freckles never got to enjoy "friends" like the ones on the cover of this reprint. Funny how in the strip Freckles keeps bouncing back and forth from empty Orphan Annie eyes to having dots for pupils.

NotesAlex Schomburg was doing covers for the Standard line of comics during this period. While this is the only Freckles and His Friends entry, in a very identifiable Xela style, Captain Easy #10 & #12 through #17 are also examples of his work on licensed characters for Standard.
