SynopsisEileen and Dan go to the prom together. Afterwards, they visit a diner with some friends. A storm blows up, and Dan’s car won’t start. The two teens take shelter in a nearby motel, but the phone lines are down. Eileen has a room to herself, and the owner gives Dan a place to sleep. The next day, they go home and are confronted by their parents. When they learn the truth, the parents say “of course we believe you” and “Dan acted mighty sensibly!”

Pete kisses Doris and says “you’re just lucky it happened to be me who picked you up!” Doris decides to go home. Pete drives her there and explains to her parents. Doris now has “an inkling of what mature love would be like.”

She agrees to wait for him. “Yes, I’d be waiting, through the years until the time came when we could be together…always!”
