After a few recap panels this issue basically reprints an edited version of the Black Fury/Miss Fury (the strip officially changed its name on November 30, 1941) strips from November 9, 1941 to May 17, 1942.

This quote comes from one of a series of Hardcover Marvel collections published in the UK by HACHETT PARTWORKS. I don't know the original source of the quote. [John Romita -'One of my favorite strips when I was a kid was Miss Fury. When I found out that Marvel had the rights to her, I said I'd love to do a Miss Fury book ..... I showed Stan an updated drawing of her that I'd done. He suggested instead that we redesign the Black Widow costume based on her.'] If Marvel had the rights to Miss Fury, how did the get them. And more surprisingly, why didn't they update and use the character? 'Curiouser and Curiouser!'

Highly enjoyable plot and surprisingly detailed characterisation for the period. Baroness Van Kampf is a worthy villain.

@The Australian Panther It's likely that Marvel was considering doing something with the character, but realized that because she was in the public domain, other companies would be able to cash in on any marketing push they did for their own series. So instead, they just borrowed elements of the character for a copyrighted one they owned.
