Israel Waldman's scammy comics company did us a favor with this one. Even with crummy printing this Wood extravaganza is first-rate! There was nothing like this on the stands in 1963.

Reprint of the Avon one-shot "An Earth Man on Venus", also availlable on CB+! Note: this reprint doesn't have the cover or inside front cover of the original, both of which feature Wally Wood art, because Israel Waldman didn't buy the printing plates for them, just the insides of the book. But, you do get a kool new Ross Andru/Mike Esposito cover!

All true! The Avon version is a much better print too, go check it out!

My comment was from the standpoint of a 14-year-old comics fan finding this on an obscure newsstand in 1963. There was good stuff out there: Silver Age GL, Adam Strange, and Flash were at their peak. Marvel was exciting but still a bit crude. Besides them you had ACG and Charlton. This comic dropped on me like an atom bomb. Crappy printing or not, the combination of sexy pre-Code women, icky monsters, and incredible Wood artwork was totally unlike anything I'd seen. Made me a lifelong Wood fan for one thing.

Right with you there crash! If it wasn't for IW a 13-year old K1ngcat would never have seen this great comic, or met Jet Powers, The Spirit, Phantom Lady, Plastic Man etc. for which I'm eternally grateful.
