Her parents set her up with Chet, the son of a friend. She remembers him as gawky and unattractive, but when he shows up for their date he’s handsome and charming and Bess realises her parents knew best.

Synopsis25-year-old Peter falls in love with Elizabeth but his domineering mother makes it clear she intends to keep running his life even after he’s married. Elizabeth objects and says “we’ll never have a real marriage so as she lives with us!” Peter says he can’t abandon his mother, and comes to Mark Ford for help.
