Thank you. Back in the 70's early 80's I had a softcover, B&W, Photostat trade of this. Bought it at a convention. Nice to have it back.

Easily one of the best comic artists ever. Lou Fine's Ray and Black Condor both appeared in Alan Light's Special Edition Series 2, from 1974, which may be the reference in the prior post. Mostly B&W and "gloriously" photostatted, It still revealed the amazing talent of the Mr. Fine. Thank you for this compilation!

What a joy to behold a whole bunch of Ray stories by Lou Fine and Reed Crandall! Is there any way you can make a compilation of the Black Condor features? Comic book artists of today should study the wonders of Fine and Crandall at their most dynamic.

Lots of beautiful art in this series! As much as I like Lou Fine's artwork, I like Reed Crandall's Ray even better. His figures have an extra solidity that emphasizes what an anatomy master Crandall was. Both he and Fine seem to be showing off just how many angles they can draw the figure from. Exciting.
Odd how in these stories Fine created some of the most bizarre, grotesque, and downright ugly characters in comics history, but he ended up specializing in ultra-slick, conservative mainstream figures. It's like looking at two different artists. It's hard to see much of one in the other's work.
