Science Fiction abounds with ridiculous head wear, but I have to put this fellow on the cover's hat towards the top of the list.

Thanks for posting these compilations. I started this one with high hopes but the story soon becomes just one scene after another in which the humans get their asses kicked. Still, I can see its attraction as an updated variation of "The War of the Worlds." However I felt cheated when after 109 pages I reached "The End" and discovered it wasn't the end at all! The Martians are still winning, they've captured the hero, and the reader is exhorted to read the NEXT serial to find out what REALLY happens. I'd have been a surly schoolboy if, after six months of breathless anticipation, I was hit with that cheat.
