He proposes telling her that he wants to wait until September. Pamela thinks he just wants her inheritance and turns him down. She starts dating old friend Herb Nelson. She gets a job as a sketch artist. She runs into Marty and finds out he was receiving a fellowship in Rome in September. It's been a huge misunderstanding and all ends well.
