Hi gang,
 I was recently surfing the web and found (and downloaded) virtually the entire run of Dell 4 Color comics. Very few make any mention of who the original scanner was. I think I have all of the 2nd series and several of the 1st series. I know not to post Disney, Walter Lantz and Hanna Barberra characters but there are a lot of movie and TV adaptations in this lot. Plus there are some that appear to be rather generic. My question is whether it would be all right to upload some of these? Thanks. Bob Rice

Any chance the 4 color issue of #7 Smokey Stover, #38 Roy  Rogers or #63 Roy Rogers for the second series were included?

Also any chance you could list which of the first series were included?

Relax, Bob, these are almost certainly your, mine, KF's, etc. scans for years back.  Though I guess it couldn't hurt to ask  :-)

Dell4C, the 2nd series you asked about were missing. The first series I have are #s 8, 10,12, 13, 15-18, and 21-24. There was another thread where someone wanted the four color Johnny Mack Brown issues posted and I have all those plus a lot of other westerns like Zane Grey, Roy Rogers' Trigger, Lone Rangers' Silver. Plus comic strip adaptations like Tillie the Toiler and Hi and Lois.

I think you are wrong about the second series missing, as the first series only had 25 issues, so unless virtually the entire run means 23-24 issues, if one series is missing, it would have to be the first

Note that he says "the second series... were missing" he's not referring to the series as a whole but as individual issues in the series, those specific ones Dell asked about

Don't mean to needlessly resurrect an old topic, but I believe I have the same collection Bob was referring to.  I'd be happy to upload whichever ones would pass muster if I could get a better idea of which one's were OK or not.

From what I know of the Dells they are a can of worms.  Since most of them were licensed titles they pretty much have to be checked out issue by issue to see if copyrights were renewed. 

If you have any particular issues and titles in mind run them through over at the copyright research section under General Discussions in the General Category of the messageboard and maybe we can come up with an answer.
