Title: Batsowl
Post by: The Australian Panther on January 10, 2018, 12:28:27 AM
Looking for information on Gerald G. Swan's publications I ended up surfing around comics blogs (as you do) and came across BatsOwl, who I thought was too good not to share.

The stories were text only. They would be nice to have on the site.

Due for revival?

Cheers!

Yes, I remember this from a post mr goldenage made a couple of years ago.  Every now and then I trawl through sites looking for the story. Still haven't found it.
But these early bat type characters abound and here's another. This hero appeared in The Boys' Friend in 1927.  He's referred to at one point in the illustrated text story as Flying Justice, so that's what I call him.  Have a look at one of the illos:-

Interesting character but the name is a puzzlement. Euphonious is ain't. I'm guessing they couldn't think of a better name before the deadline and went with choice #2. I can also see kids pronouncing it "Bat Sowl" instead of "Bat's Owl."
