Shameless promotion
« on: October 09, 2015, 07:11:59 PM »

I don't want to open a can of worms, but I wonder what the guidelines are for postings in "Shameless Self-Promotion." It had been my impression that the category is for members to promote stuff they've had a hand in producing, for example self-produced comics. Recent "reviews" of new comics posted in this section seem really to be unpaid advertising for a comics retailer. Which might be fine, but where does this leave paid advertisers? Any opinions?

Originally, these "reviews" were in the comic talk section and I moved them to "shameless" and waited for other comments.  I pm'd the company but their format didn't change, so now, given our excellent value advertising terms and Mark's new donations initiative, I think we should ban these "reviews" and suggest they buy advertising with us.
Pitch in the rest of you.
