Comics are Doomed!

Over at BoingBoing they've posted a 1940 fanzine article complaining that comic book science fiction is ruining real s-f. Not to worry, though. The author concludes that comic books won't last anyway. A fun read:

Lovely! I like to start the day with a good laugh!

I'm just reading my way through CB+'s great collection of Planet Comics, and some of the continuing stories, e.g. Mars and Lost World are classics in their own right.  Dan Zolnerowich's covers are still outstanding seventy odd years later, and Norge Benson's a very odd strip, but beautifully rendered and thoroughly enjoyable.

A thousand 'thank you's to CB+ for allowing us to keep rotting our minds with this sort of tripe. ;)
