I don't rate Ogden Whitney too highly, but after looking at this cover I might have to revise my opinion. He has apparently been inspired by Harry Lazarus' splash for the 'Jeremy Jones' story. Unusual also because the title character is in the background and not immediately obvious. The central figure on the cover is highly realistic and genuinely scary!
