We Have Grown Up And Are Moving On
« on: April 07, 2012, 09:26:03 PM »

Welcome to a new and very exciting chapter in the life of this site.

If you were a member of GoldenAgeComics.co.uk you maybe wondering what in the blue blazes is going on!

Well, GAC as it is affectionately known was founded in 2006, which in internet terms makes it almost a veteran. This was the site that really trailblazed the scanning and downloading of Golden Age comic books. But the clock ticks on, it was beginning to look tired. Also, as with all of us of advancing years, some bits were not working quite as well as they used to.

So, the time had come for an overhaul, to bring the site back to its former glory. You are now viewing the beginning of this journey. There is still a long way to go, but at least the process has begun.

We thought that with the addition of Silver Age comics, fanzines, pamplets and other ideas in the pipeline, the name GoldenAgeComics.co.uk was not truly representative of the sites new direction. Plus of course it was not a UK site, even its servers are based in the US. So we are now ComicBookPlus.com ... but it is just the natural progression of GAC, whose DNA runs through every page.

So, welcome one and all!! Here's hoping that Comic Book Plus will last for as many years as GAC before it too morphs into a new being.

Regards,

Mark

GoldenAgeComics/ComicBookPlus looks great.
Thanks for all the work you've put into it, Mark.

I really should look for a new avatar, matching the 'new' site, now.  :P

Okey, dokey, changing avatar works.  Mine is now Atome Kid.  Anyone note a similarity to an Adam Strange cover?  Looking forward to seeing who changes what.

Thank you for the kind comments ... it has been a lot of hard work and also many visits to Stressville .... but being an egotistical old programmer I thrive on compliments and they make it all worth while :)

oh. lol. I didn't notice narfstar's avatar, but I think I'll try to read that one too now that you've pointed it out. I meant this picture:
