Really, a must read. If nothing else but to understand how different the country was in 1956 and how early in the history of the Civil Rights movement, how important Dr. King was.

Absolutely inspiring--with the added advantage that the art is fine, the likenesses are good, and the production is impeccable. No need to make allowances forgood intentions. Good as it gets.

Some may have seen congressional representative John Lewis on the COLBERT REPORT, for August 13 '13. Lewis was one of the speakers at the March on Washington, August 28 '63--the youngest of those to speak that day and the only one still alive. On the COLBERT REPORT, Rep. Lewis said that this comic book is what inspired him to join Dr. King in the civil rights movement.

A fascinating document. How was the "Al Capp Organization" connected with this book? Artwise it looks like DC house style artists. Is the story behind the comic told anywhere?
