Gordon and Gotch is stlll,'The largest distributor of books and magazines in Australia' Almost the only one, actually.
Monty Wedd, deserves to be much better known outside this country.

Panther, thanks for those links. Of Monty Wedd's work I'd seen only the issue of Captain Justice we have onsite. The first article in particular filled me in on his long and varied career.

Monty Wedd is significant because he is one of the few comic book artists who did a substantial amount of non-fiction work. He clearly saw comics as an effective way to introduce readers to serious subjects, History in particular.
In fact he was the first comic artist whose work I could find copies of in my school libraries!
