There's something strange about this comic. Someone other than Toth seems to have drawn the Tom Mix figures, except in long shots. Take page 7. Compare Tom's vaguely-drawn body and lumpy legs in panel 1 with the characters in panels 2 and 3. Those figures are unmistakably Toth. But the first panel? Toth was in top form in 1962 He just wouldn't have drawn a figure that way.

Being a licensed property I could see the client ordering someone to redraw Mix's face (though I'm sure it would have pissed Alex off), but why entire figures? Does anyone know the story behind this?

For one thing this comic is not from 1962.  Not sure how it got mislabeled so.  It actually came out in 1983.  I remember buying a box of Ralston just so I could get the comic.  The last page of the comic even makes reference to the date of publication.  Not sure it should even be on the site. 

To my eyes the figure work on Mix looks like it could be all Toth from the 80s.
