Glad to have you here EG.

You'll find plenty of Captain Marvel comics under the Fawcett Comics section in the Gold section of the main site.

I have set you up to start downloading.  Let us know when you need to be reset.  We do ask that you only download one file at a time as that helps to keep the site running smoother.

If you have any questions feel free to drop in on the forum and we'll do our best to help you.

Best

You are all set up to start downloading CG.

We do ask that you only download only one file at a time as that keeps the site running much smoother.

Also let us know when you need to be reset.

Enjoy

Welcome to CB+ peedance.

There were plenty of Romance comics published during the Golden Age of comics (1940-50s).  You'll find some here at CB+ among the following publishers: Ace, Ajax-Farrell. American Comics Group, Avon, Better/Nedor/Standard, Charlton, Comic Media, Eastern, Fawcett, Fox, Harvey, Key, MLJ, Orbit, Prize, Quality, Star, Sterling, St. John, Youthful and Ziff-Davis.

You'll also find some examples of Silver Age (1960s) Romance comics in our Silver Age Sidestreet in the Charlton section.

If you have any questions please feel free to post here on the forum.  We have some pretty knowledgeable folks here.

Also keep checking in as we have new scans showing up just about every day.

Enjoy

How nice, thank you Joe. :)
Hmm, Golden Age really has a vast numbers of romance comics. Well, I'll start reading from Silver Age since it has smaller collection.

Hello, All

While searching for classic reprints on line, I stumbled onto this site. A great find!
About me: Artist, collector and author.
I studied for a few years with the late, great Will Eisner.
I collect Sequential Art in many forms. Lynd Ward is one of my favorite artists.
Once I figure out what is legal to post and what is already scanned, I'll dig through my classics pile and contribute what I can to the collection.

Step,

Glad to have you on board.

I only met the late great Will Eisner once- when he came to be a guest speaker at the Kubert School while I was attending it- very early 1980s.

Must have been great to have actually studied with him.

I have many "favorite" artists.  Of the old illustrators from the era of Ward I am particularly fond of the artists who worked in the Brandywine tradition such as Pyle, Wyeth, Schoonover, Dunn, Cornwell, Schaeffer. etc...

If you have any questions about what is okay to post you can ask us and we'll check it out.  I can tell you up front that pretty much all DC and Marvel stuff is verboten and for that matter only a very limited amount of material from 1960 forward is okay.

Anyway hope to see you on the boards here in the future.

Best

Joe

Hello Step, hope you enjoy yourself here.  Lots of great stuff to download and we're always happy to host new pd uploads.
I am fortunate to have had dinner with Mr. Eisner years ago in Glasgow when he was a guest at the Glasgow Con.  What a lovely man.  I'm afraid I'm not an artist or comic creator, simply an ex-comic shop owner who organised cons and marts.
Get stuck into the forum.

Hello, I just joined the site. I'm always looking around for sites with vintage publications. My interests cover the entire history of comics + the various magazines, pulps, newspaper strips etc. which preceded the comic book format. I've found lots of interesting things on The Internet Archive and at Digital Comic Museum as well as Yahoo and Google groups. I like things as disparate as The Beano and Plastic Man, Alan Class and Rupert the Bear. If anyone has scans of old British fanzine "Fantasy Advertiser" which used to be edited by Dez Skinn I'm always looking for old copies of that, especially the oldest ones from the late 60s and early 70s. It was very cheaply produced but covered a wide range of topics about comics and speculative fiction.

You do log in separately to each. Log in to the main site and go forward to something. Sometimes the problem is going back and the way cookies read things.

Hurray, It's worked with Chrome. It seems the problem was with Mozilla based browsers. I first tried in Seamonkey and then in Firefox, both of which are Mozilla browsers. Having no joy with those I tried Chrome and was able to log in without a problem. I haven't tried IE or Safari yet though I do have have both of those installed.
