[Downunder Dan]

A historical note: This was at the beginning of the Australian Comics Golden Age, when the government banned the import of American comics and syndicated proofs (among other things), and the desire to read comics lead to the invigoration of the local comics industry. But no new periodicals could be created (this prohibition ceased at the end of WWII), so the new comics were all one-shots, even though some characters appeared multiple times - like Dr Mensana.
