Did you know that Kooba Cola (on page 66) NEVER EXISTED? That it was all a promotional scheme dreamed up by the publisher Victor Fox? His idea was to create interest with the ads and then get somebody else to make it, making money off the trademark?

An article a while back (don't recall where--Alter Ego?) talked about the elusive Kooba Kola. A scenario formed in my mind--somewhere, some kid's life was destroyed by Kooba Kola. He took his coupon to his local store for a free bottle, but the merchant insisted he'd never heard of the stuff. Embittered, vengeful, the kid turned to a life of crime and ended up as the lead story in an issue of Crime Does Not Pay.
