You're right, Rick, "funny animals" makes the story sound frivolous. But since they're not drawn in a realistic style, we need a phrase that expresses their half-and-half nature. Maybe we could compromise with "amusing animals."

The term to use is anthropomorphic. This was a big discussion at GCD

I totally agree ... that's why in CB+ Categories we have "Animals" and "Funny Animals". Anthropomorphic is the right term for Champion/Fury etc but I think "Animals" is slightly better to use here.

O hang on, I think Lassie is trying to tell me something :)

Funny Animal with caps is a category of comics with specific features. The FOREST FIRE comic doesn't fit that category very well, because it doesn't have those features.
