One thing that stands out in these stories, is the consistent use of black for shading and atmosphere.
Toth had the best reputation for it, but many Golden Age artists used it. It seems to me that many current mainstream artists, in contrast, rarely use black shading at all. Am I wrong?Maybe because of the much improved colour palate available?
