Hi,
I just joined this forum, I think this site is great! I am looking for Detective Fiction Weekly v142 #3, December 28, 1940. Has anyone seen it for download/viewing? Thank you.

Welcome to the club, palpatine. I'm afraid I can't help you with DFW. Enjoy yourself here, there's a lot to discover and read.

Wecome aboard from New Jersey! If you are a science fiction fan, have a look at the Ace O'Hara collections just posted - to the far right of the page. You might enjoy them.
Hmm. Palpatine. I hope that doesn't mean that you are going to become a benign influence or intend to have a career in Empire Building.
Just Joking! I hope!
Actually, I'm curious and I love detective fiction. What is special about 'Detective Fiction Weekly v142 #3, December 28, 1940' ?
It may not be on the site, but someone here may be able to help you find it elsewhere.
Cheers from NSW - New South Wales - in Australia.

Hi Panther,
that issue has a story involving "concrete shoes" that is of interest to me since it is a rare topic.

Checked out that site and noticed the cover of Private Detective ? 12/49 which states, 'Comic section in this issue' Anybody know what that might contain.
Wish I had $30.00 to hand.
cheers!

I think it may have been Sally the Sleuth or Jerry Jasper:

Sally sounds interesting

I need to thank Panther because in tracking this down, I came across this excellent book by Adolphe Barreaux - first on my Christmas list:

Sally is in the public domain and a quick search of this site shows her in a couple of places. If we can track down more that would be great

And thank you.

Looks like a keeper.
Actually that book reminds me of the work of Alan Geoffrey Yates who wrote under the nom de plume of Carter Brown. The girls in his books lost so many clothes, if he had collected them he could have opened a department store.
