Title: Revivals of Golden Age PD characters
Post by: The Australian Panther on October 17, 2021, 04:34:56 AM
Was going to add this to the 'Project Superpowers' thread, but thought - this subject has legs, may as well give it its own thread.
Here is Atomic Pulp - Official site of writer, editor, graphic designer - Christopher Mills

What led me here was finding the comic Space Crusader. They are undertaking a line of revived PD characters.
This first issue headlines Rex Dexter, with a back-up by Lance Lewis - Space PI. (I'm not going to discuss the source of the characters I will mention, since many on CB+ will be familiar with them and if not, they can have the fun of looking them up)
Second issue is a revival of Wolverton's SpaceHawk. But will probably disappoint Wolverton fans since it lacks the idiosyncrasy of his work.
Blurb for Issue three is for Space Pirates.
Advertised in the book - but I haven't seen a copy - is Sleuth Comics with Black Owl, Mike Lancer PI, and Miss Fury. I haven't seen any revival get Miss Fury right, so here's hoping.
So Space Crusaders #1? Professionally done, art by Peter Grau. The creators are obviously fans, but their work is of a standard that could have come out of a pro company. And rollicking good fun!
I think you'll like it. I hope Lockdown hasn't silenced them.
